Project Designers

Moreno Architects in Chicago, IL is looking for Project Designers. Qualified candidates will be under the supervision of a licensed Architect, analyzing all phases of the architectural project, including programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction contract administration; Formulating architectural project design philosophy and adhering strictly to the philosophy; Preparing the project work plan in conjunction with senior team leaders, including the timing and format of drawings, mockups, schedules, data summaries and specifications or descriptions; Preparing design and technical drawings and solutions to complex architectural problems using Climate responsive design, Sketchup, Layout, AutoCAD, V-Ray and Acrobat; Reviewing shop drawings and preparing supplemental architectural instructions; Responding to contractors’ requests for information; Analyzing complex building materials and systems, details and construction techniques; Researching and promoting opportunities for new or innovative system applications; Conducting periodic on-site observations of construction work to monitor compliance with architectural plans; and mentoring and training junior staff in the preparation of architectural drawings, studies, models and other project tasks.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or foreign degree equivalent in Architecture and three months’ experience in position or three months’ experience in Architecture field.
 
Special requirements: Experience with Climate responsive design, Sketchup, Layout, AutoCAD, V-Ray and Acrobat. Telecommuting/Hybrid may be permitted within commuting distance of Chicago office. Apply to careers@jgma.com.
